Xi Jinping - The Permanent President
Xi Jinping of China who in his first tenure has done well cleansing the ruling Chinese Communist Party of any opposition that challenged his supremacy, building up several leadership roles, and bringing together in tight bond, a number of personality with the aim of realizing the Chinese dream, is being re-elected as China's president with no term limits. This obviously isn't coming without an effect on China as well as the world's politics and order. What are these effects?
First, not being a good market reformer, Xi Jinping's economic policies have since his election into office ensured that China lies in-between a two-phase structural transition instead of being a service-based economy. Being one of the world's largest economies, this would have far-reaching impact on the global economy if China's shift in structural transition doesn't occur soon.
Also, China being one of the global major powers has a large influence on the world's political sphere which means that this singular move by China to place no term limits in their political scene can have a boomerang effect on other nations of the world who might also want to make a move to adopt this system into theirs. This will definitely be drastic, as this would result in increased political oppression, repression and infighting amongst different party groups.
Notwithstanding the advantages that come with the no term limits on which Xi Jinping's re-election will operate, it's disadvantage far outweighs. From the slow decision-making process and a seemingly dictatorial government, a more centralized government will birth; to the negative effect it will have when power transfer or transition has to occur; to the personal ambition it would advocate on the world stage instead of foreign policy, are some national as well as international issues that will potentially have long-lasting effect on the world's order and politics.
